Patronizing attitude towards women wearing indian clothes

One of the shocking and little known aspects of working in India is how office staff have a patronizing attitude towards women who are wearing indian clothes, treating them as a second class citizen. In an insurance company, it was observed that the trainer who was extremely westernized, speaking in the “right” accent, was very patronizing towards another employee of the company who was dressed in traditional indian clothes and spoke in Hindi.
Do corporates in India in 2016, openly discriminate against women wearing indian clothes, sideline them, deny them good opportunities and information. The indian clothes wearing employee appears to have left the company after some time. Does anyone else face discrimination because of the clothes they wear and lifestyle, please share.
