Shooting Clay Targets with My Husband

When my husband first started taking instruction for clay shooting at a local establishment, I wanted to learn as much as I could about this sport. I had no idea what it entailed, but that was about to change. I thought that I was just going to learn more about his newest hobby, but everything I read about the clay pigeon shooting sparked an interest in me too. I learned that there are nearly two dozen different disciples, but they are all grouped under three main ones, which is trapping, skeeting, and sport.

He is doing the sport discipline, and the more I read about it, the more I understood why this was the one he wanted to practice. In it, just about anything can go instead of it just being one thing over and over. I decided that this was something I wanted to see in person, so I went with him on his next trip to Lady’s Wood. The first thing I was struck with was how amazing the property itself is. There are 55 acres of pure and gorgeous nature here, and it has a set up so anyone from a first time shooter to a professional can be entertained here.

That first day, I just watched my husband shoot. That was fascinating just to do that! I went with him on his next shoot, and I was surprised to see that he had set me up with an instructor. He told me that while he could teach me, that it would pale in comparison to what a professional instructor would be able to teach me about the sport. That was nearly a year ago, and now we are both shooting on a regular basis there. We have even bought our own guns too, which saves us some money and makes it more fun!
